Using the slogan “Fix Your Flaws, Become Pixel Perfect!” and incorporating an irregularly shaped curvy mirror, reflective surfaces, and seamless gradients contrasted with pixelated and grainy elements, the overall design of the Photo Booth was developed with the intention of attracting passersby that may already have a skewed belief and/or conflicting thoughts and feelings surrounding their body image. On the desktop website, submissions are able to be made on the PixPure information page after clicking on “Learn more”, which allows participants to gain a sense of community if they wish to join the PixPure movement. Those suffering from VSS also commonly see floaters and after images (where they continue to see images even after they are out of the line of sight), and experience tinnitus (ringing in the ears), migraines, sensitivity to light and impaired night as well as reading vision. I focused on using a variety of colours that were varied in vibrancy to emphasise certain components and to attract younger viewers who are likely to be fascinated and entertained by these design choices. It describes and compares the experience of grief to honey, a light-hearted concept that primary school kids would be more likely to digest and understand. Using honey as an analogy also enables kids to have a way of communicating their feelings when dealing with grief if they are having trouble expressing due to unfamiliarity and limited vocabulary. a place of “organised chaos”. To communicate this authentic, busy, and chaotic yet systemic culture of Springvale, my publication is designed to feel almost overwhelming, cluttered, and yet still structured and logical in its layout and colour palette. Various patterns and repeating traditional cultural motifs are scattered across different spreads to reinforce the feeling of cohesive disorder, a contradiction that is also illustrated in the alternating colours that contrast eachother throughout the publication.
